Guy on www.shootwithroman.com

September 22nd, 2008

Photographer Roman Wyden (who took the head shots on this site), asked Guy to write a paragraph on being an actor in Hollywood. Below is a collage and answer from Roman’s website.

Actor Guy Camilleri on ‘in-it-for-life’

One of my most versatile clients and good friend, actor Guy Camilleri has been one of the greatest inspirations in my life! We’ve done 4 headshot sessions together and it’s amazing how many looks that guy can pull off.

My own words couldn’t do this topic justice, so I asked Guy himself to write a paragraph on persistence, focus and dedication as an actor in Hollywood… ‘in-it-for-life’:

“When Roman describes what i do as “in it for life”, I imagine he is referring to my tenacity wrapped in ‘blind spotted unbridled enthusiasm’. If that is true, it is a reflection of my lineage.

I am a by-product of home builders and brick layers from Malta. And, to top it off I grew up in Cocoa Beach, the “small wave capital of the world”. We surfers had to work extra hard to catch a wave and we had to make the most of what we had, since the waves would sometimes last only a couple of hours, literally. Allen Ginsberg used the phrase ‘aspiration’ when writing poetry. How deep is your aspiration?”
